Presentation
1. Telmin Paste
A white paste containing a total of 4 g mebendazole per syringe.
2. Telmin Granules
Slightly amber granules. Each gram of granules contains: 100 mg mebendazole. Each sachet contains a total of 2 g mebendazole.
Uses
1. Telmin Paste & 2. Telmin Granules
An oral broad spectrum anthelmintic for the treatment of helminthiasis in the horse and donkey. Telmin is effective against benzimidazole-susceptible strains of the following worms:
Large strongyles: | Strongylus vulgaris |

Dosage & administration
1. Telmin Paste
Horses
The dose rate is 5–10 mg mebendazole per kg bodyweight orally. Repeat this dose every six weeks.
Foals and horses 100–200 kg | ¼ syringe |
Horses 200–400 kg | ½ syringe |
Horses 400–800 kg | 1 syringe |
Donkeys
For the treatment of Dictyocaulus arnfieldi give orally at the rate of 15–20 mg/kg bodyweight daily for 5 consecutive days.
Administer by squeezing the paste from the syringe onto the back of the tongue. Previous fasting is not required. Care must be taken to ensure that there is nothing in the mouth which may mix with the paste (ie hay or other feed).
2. Telmin Granules
Horses
The dose rate is 5–10 mg mebendazole per kg bodyweight orally. Repeat this dose every six weeks.
Horses 200–400 kg | 1 sachet |
Horses 401–800 kg | 2 sachets |
Donkeys
For the treatment of Dictyocaulus arnfieldi give orally at the rate 15–20 mg/kg bodyweight daily for 5 consecutive days.
Donkey 151- 200 kg | 1 ½ sachets | Daily for 5 days |
Donkey 201- 250 kg | 2 sachets | Daily for 5 days |
Donkey 251 - 300 kg | 2 ½ sachets | Daily for 5 days |
Donkey 301- 350 kg | 3 sachets | Daily for 5 days |
Administer the granules with the normal feed. Concentrated feed can be moistened a little if necessary.

Contra-indications, warnings, etc.
1. Telmin Paste
Animals for human consumption must not be slaughtered until 6 months after treatment with Telmin Paste.
When used in donkeys at the higher dose rate of 15–20 mg/kg daily, the product should not be administered within the first 4 months after service.
Do not use the same syringe to treat more than one animal unless the horses are running together or are in direct contact with each other on the same premises.

Assess bodyweight as accurately as possible before calculating the dosage.
Intensive use or misuse of anthelmintics can give rise to resistance. To reduce this risk, dosing programmes should be discussed with your veterinary surgeon.
Operator warning
Wash hands after use. Persons with known hypersensitivity to ingredients in the product should not handle the product.
Disposal
Any unused product or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with national requirements.
2. Telmin Granules
When used in donkeys at the higher dose rate of 15–20 mg/kg daily, the product should not be administered within the first 4 months after service.

Withdrawal period
In accordance with the Horse Passport legislation (Commission Decision 2000/68/EC as implemented in national legislation), a 6 month withdrawal period applies to the use of this product.
